Quartz (quartz sand) color is white or colorless translucent, hardness 7, no cleavage, conchoidal fracture, oil sheen and the relative density of 2.65. it have obvious anisotropy, do not dissolve in acid, slightly soluble in KOH solution, melting point is 1750 ℃.
